Li Haidong is explaining you about some of
the Interesting Facts about Milky Way Galaxy. In the entire universe, our
planet is just one a small part. Even our solar system is a small part of the
Milky Way Galaxy, and the Milky Way galaxy is simply one of billions in the
universe. It’s really hard to imagine how big our universe actually is. Li
Haidong Singapore believes despite of so much advancement we know very little
about Space & Li Haidong also believes we are not alone in the universe.
1: Milky Way Is Just One of Hundreds of Billions of Galaxies in Universe
Milky Way Is Just One of Hundreds of
Billions of Galaxies in Universe it was previously thought that there were
around 200 billion galaxies in the universe. However, now it is believed that
there are many more galaxies out there in space.
2: There Are Almost 4,000 Exoplanets in Our Galaxy
Planets that are beyond our solar system or
very far away from earth are called exoplanets and more than thousands of
planets have been discovered by NASA’s Kepler Space Telescope over the past years.
These exoplanets varies in size, with some being rocky and others having icy
surfaces.
3: There Are Hundreds Of Billions Of Stars In Our Galaxy
It’s tough to determine how many stars
there are in our galaxy since the halo around the Milky Way also contains many
stars. In addition to that the center of our galaxy has a galactic bulge that’s
filled with stars, gas & supermassive black holes which makes that area
extremely thick with materials that even our advanced telescopes are unable to
see through it.
4: The Andromeda Galaxy Will Eventually Collide With Milky Way
The Milky Way Galaxy and Andromeda galaxy
will eventually collide one day, but it won’t happen for a very long time.
While it was previously thought that it would happen in almost 3.75 billion
years from now, but with newly conducted research from the ESA’s Gaia mission
estimates the collision will take place in 4.5 billion years.
5: Structure and Size of Milky Way Galaxy
The Milky Way Galaxy is a barred spiral
galaxy with a center bulge that is surrounded by the four arms that are wrapped
around it. Our whole galaxy, is always rotating. It would take approximately
230 million years to travel around the Milky Way Galaxy.
